What supports do we need to help us reembody?

From ourselves, from others, from society, our environment.

What supports embodiment for me?

  • dancing!
  • sitting, lying, being on the floor:
    • I feel very grounded and free, no bounds, can roll around anywhere.
    • The firmness also feels like what my body wants a lot of the time.
    • More floor living could also support simplified living, with less furniture, less to clean around and under, more open space, more floor time!
  • being outside during intense weather
    • I feel a heightened sense of my body, fear, survival instincts. I feel alive!
    • Rain pelting skin, snow, slipper ice, crisp cold on the skin
    • Summer heat—brings out the need to just rest, be still, conserve energy, no excess thought activity, my animal laziness takes over
  • intense physical exercise (sweating)
    • activating muscles and sweat glands
  • swimming!
    • waking up muscles i don’t use every day in landlubber life.
  • observing animals
  • lowering my center of gravity, walking around in a low stance like a tiger
